NSW birthday bashing brother out on parole

Two brothers who crashed a Sydney birthday party armed with a golf club, a glass bottle and a replica pistol have walked free from court.

Christopher and Ian Armitage were 18 and 21 when they turned up uninvited to a southwestern Sydney home in November 2014 and assaulted two men.

At the Downing Centre District Court on Thursday, Judge Andrew Scotting sentenced the pair to minimum jail time of seven and 10 months respectively, but said they had already served that time so could be released on parole.

The brothers smiled and hugged their lawyers and loved ones as they walked out of the court.
