No bail for alleged NSW face-shooter

The NSW man accused of shooting another man in the face in suburban Wollongong earlier this week will remain behind bars.

Jason Hans Speelman, 41, was charged with attempted murder and resisting police after a 36-year-old man was shot in the face at Unanderra early on Wednesday morning.

The injured man's wounds were not life-threatening.

Speelman did not apply for bail when he fronted Port Kembla Local Court on Thursday and it was formally refused by the magistrate.

He is due back before the same court on June 3.
