Police hold grave fears for NSW teacher Sharon Edwards who vanished five days ago

NSW Police hold serious concerns for missing woman Sharon Edwards, who was last seen at a Grafton pub five days ago.

The 54-year-old teacher was last sighted between 10pm and 11pm on Saturday 14 March.

She was reported missing when she failed to attend her class at Coutts Crossing public school on Monday morning.

Mrs Edwards' car was found in the driveway of her home and police have already conducted two searches in two separate properties on NSW mid-north coast.

It is understood Mrs Edwards is estranged from her husband and has adult children and grandchildren.

She has no known medical conditions and has not made contact with relatives.

Police have released a second image of the missing teacher today appealing to anyone who may be able to assist in the investigation.

Police investigating the case have set up Strike Force Burrow, including up to 12 detectives from Coffs Harbour who have been brought in to investigate.

Mrs Edwards has a been a resident in Grafton for more than 20 years and the mystery surrounding her disappearance has her friends and family on edge.

"We're all just totally shocked. We just can't believe that she's missing," Friend Phil Beckman said.

Police are treating the incident as very suspicious and police hold grave concerns for her welfare, saying the situation is extremely out of character.
