Fight to bring kids to Australia after mum allegedly murdered in US
A heartbroken NSW family is facing a massive international legal fight to bring the young sons of a murder victim back to Australia from the US.

“She’d walk into a room and everyone looks at her straight away, her energy, her kindness,” Madisson said, of her sister.
Meaghan’s husband, Jesse Jones, allegedly told a 911 operator he had stabbed his wife several times in their Florida home in April.

The Bowler family is fighting to bring two-year-old Jesse and nine-month-old Elijah to Australia.
“It’s like a melting pot of emotions at the moment,” Maddison said.
With Jones now in custody, the boys are living with his mother.

But Madisson and her father are putting their lives here on hold to go to Florida and get them.
“It could be anywhere from 6 to 12 months that the process could take,” she said.
“I can’t turn my back on the lives of those two boys.”
The Bowler family is facing steep legal hurdles
The children don’t have birth certificates or social security numbers in the US, something they’ll need before the custody battle can begin.
The family has launched a GoFundMe, which they say will be used to help bring the two boys home.
