Masked man attacks two women in Sydney

A masked man has gone on a rampage through western Sydney, threatening a woman with a gun and robbing her outside a club, then breaking into a nearby home and bashing another woman with a hammer.

A 27-year-old woman who was getting into her car after leaving a St Marys club on the Great Western Highway in the early hours of Sunday was robbed of her wallet, keys and phone by an armed man wearing a white ski mask, police say.

An hour later, the same man broke into a St Marys home and assaulted a 44-year-old woman with a hammer, causing facial and torso injuries.
