Man stabbed in western Sydney fight

A man is in a serious condition in hospital with a stab wound to his chest after a fight with another man in Sydney's west.

Police and ambulance paramedics were called to Fairfield Heights at about 12.30am on Sunday to find the two men fighting, one armed with a crow bar and a knife and the other with a tyre lever.

Both men were arrested.

One of them, aged 23, suffered a stab wound to his chest and was taken to Liverpool Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

The second man, aged 25, was taken to Fairfield Hospital for precautionary medical checks then to Fairfield Police Station for questioning.
