A man has been stabbed in the back after trying to protect his son from four men who turned up at his Tamworth home.
The men, one of whom had a knife, forced their way into the man's house just after midnight on Tuesday and assaulted his 26-year-old son.
When he tried to help his son, he was stabbed in the lower back, before the men left with his wallet and prescription drugs.
