Man stabbed in inner Sydney

A man is under police guard in hospital after another man was stabbed and a woman injured at a unit block in inner Sydney.

Emergency services were called to the block in Surry Hills at about 1.45am on Monday to find a 34-year-old man with stab injuries to his head.

A 28-year-old woman was assessed by ambulance paramedics at the scene.

A short time later police were called to another Surry Hills unit block and found a 37-year-man with wounds to his head and hand.

Both men and the woman were taken to St Vincents Hospital.

The 37-year-old man was arrested in hospital and placed under guard, with police believing both incidents are linked.
