Man critical after car hits pole in Sydney

A 25-year-old man is fighting for life after his car collided with a pole on a busy Sydney road and he had a heart attack.

Careflight's rescue helicopter responded to a call at Ryde at 3pm on Thursday after the man's car reportedly hit the pole at high speed along Lane Cove Road.

The man went into cardiac arrest after the crash and paramedics placed him in an induced coma.

He was taken by ambulance to Royal North Shore in a critical condition.
