Man charged over touching on Sydney train

A man has been accused of exposing himself and inappropriately touching a woman while she was sleeping on a Sydney train.

The alleged behaviour unfolded on a train bound for Caringbah in the city's south on January 9.

Police say the 50-year-man boarded the train at Central Station and sat next to a sleeping woman, who woke up to observe him exposing himself and inappropriately touching her.

Following inquiries, he was arrested at a licensed premises at Bondi Beach on Saturday.

He has been charged with sexually touching another person without consent, common assault, wilful and obscene exposure in a public place and wilfully interfering with the comfort of other.

The man has been granted conditional bail, ahead of appearing before Sutherland Local Court on March 13.
