Man charged over NSW street stabbing

A man is in hospital after allegedly being stabbed more than 20 times by another man in a street in the NSW town of Tamworth.

A 32-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after the incident on Wednesday afternoon.

Police say he visited a 38-year-old man at home at around 5pm when a fight broke out, with the pair then running out into a street.

The 32-year-old produced two knives and stabbed the other man in the chest several times.

According to The Northern Daily Leader the man was allegedly stabbed more than 20 times.

The victim is in Tamworth hospital in a serious but stable condition, while the 32-year-old is in police custody and is due to face the local court on Thursday.
