Man charged over fatal NSW shooting

A man has been charged over the fatal drive-by shooting of a car enthusiast on the NSW Central Coast last year.

Laurie Starling, 29, was gunned down on July 24 outside his car restoration business in West Gosford.

Mr Starling was a popular figure in the motor industry and involved with the annual Canberra-based motor festival, Summernats.

Detectives arrested a 29-year-old man at a home in South Windsor in the Hawkesbury region early on Thursday morning.

He has been charged with murder, supplying a firearm and possessing ammunition without authority.

He has been refused bail to appear in Penrith Local Court on Thursday.
