A man who allegedly stole a trailer and two trail bikes then led police on a pursuit in Sydney's southwest before crashing and trying to escape will face court on numerous charges.

The bikes and trailer were allegedly stolen from a home at Gwandalan, near Swansea, on Wednesday afternoon.

Detectives in Camden tried to stop a car towing a trailer about 24 hours later at Elderslie.

The car failed to stop and a pursuit began.

It's alleged the car pulled into a property on Hawdon Close and crashed into the back fence, before the driver ran from the car, but he was caught and arrested.

Police allege prescription drugs and methylamphetamine were found during a search.

A 29-year-old man was charged with driving and drug offences, including Skye's law and aggravated breaking and entering, and was refused bail to appear in Campbelltown Local Court on Friday.
