Man charged after Sydney couple threatened

A man has been charged with intimidating a Sydney couple after he allegedly threatened them and fired a shot in the air.

Two men allegedly approached the 22-year-old man and 24-year-old woman in a car outside a Muswellbrook home in December.

One man who was known to the couple threatened them with a firearm and fired a shot in the air when they drove away, police said.

Police arrested a 26-year-old man in Muswellbrook on Friday, charging him with intent to commit an indictable offence, intimidation, intend fear of physical harm, possessing a firearm and firing a firearm in a public place.

He is expected to face Cessnock Local Court on January 20.
