Kanye Loves Kanye mural snapped up by "unknown" buyer

Street artist Scott Marsh has pocketed $100,000 after demanding Kanye West pay up for the removal of his controversial mural, Kanye Loves Kanye.

The now famous giant artwork was erected in the Sydney suburb of Chippendale depicting the notorious musician passionately embracing himself.

It didn't take long before the power of social media sent the image across the globe where it was spotted by someone claiming to be from Yeezy's management.

Marsh responded by demanding a six-figure sum and a lifetime supply of the rapper’s merchandise to paint over the mural.

"I'm offering an oversized print which has been painted over for $US100,000," Marsh told the ABC.

"It's an open invitation to Kanye. If he buys that print then I'll paint over the mural."

Marsh said the mural was to "reflect the love Kanye West has for himself."

While it has not been confirmed who paid the money, Marsh's $100,000 price tag has been met with the artist announcing to social media, "If anyone needs me I'll be at the Lord Gladstone drinking from the topshelf."
