Several shots fired into home in Sydney’s west overnight

Several shots were fired into a home in Sydney’s west overnight, with a car heard speeding from the scene shortly after.

Police were called to the Madeline Street home in Fairfield West just after 9pm on Thursday following reports of a shooting.

Officers said a number of shots were fired into the home before a car was heard fleeing the scene at high speed.

No one was home at the time and there were no injuries.

A crime scene has now been set up and police are investigating.
