Police release CCTV after portable safe stolen from Sydney hotel
Police have released CCTV footage after an alleged armed robbery at a hotel in Sydney's CBD this morning.
The vision was released after a portable safe was stolen from the premises on Little Pier Street at Haymarket, which police said held nothing of "particular value".
Police were called to the scene at about 5.40am, where they were told two men threatened staff before stealing the safe.

The two hotel staffers, a man and a woman, were physically detained and taken to a back office, where they were threatened and the safe was stolen.
After initial reports one of the men may have been armed with a gun, Chief Inspector Gary Coffey confirmed later this morning that CCTV revealed there was no gun, but one of the men had a screwdriver.
No injuries were reported.
"The contents of the safe are of no particular value," Coffey said.
"It was not a high-value item at all."
He said the safe had contained documents and other material associated with the hotel, rather than cash deposits.
"It's very unusual to target this kind of hotel at this hour of the morning," Coffey said.
