Two people drown while swimming at New South Wales beach

Two people have drowned while swimming at a beach on the New South Wales Central Coast.

Police said witnesses gave CPR to the man and woman aged in their 40s after they were pulled from the water unconscious at Frazer Beach.

Paramedics arrived at 4.20pm but were unable to revive the pair.

Police said they were yet to be formally identified.

Tuggerah Lakes Police District officers have started inquiries into the incident and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
