‘You’ll die of starvation’: Swarm of hungry foodies overwhelms Sydney food truck festival

A food festival at Sydney’s Moore Park Entertainment Quarter has been overrun by a huge crowd of hungry foodies, causing long delays for food and parking.

Foodies attempting to get into the inaugural Entertainment Quarter Food Truck Jam this evening have faced congested parking lots and wait times of over 30 minutes for entry into the literally jam-packed free event, hailed as a “showcase of the most sought after street food outlets in Sydney”.

Hungry customers have since taken to the event’s Facebook page to voice their frustration.

“You’ll die of starvation,” wrote Andrew Bevan, “200 people in every line for every food truck and over 1000 people queuing to even get in the entrance. All surrounding restaurants chocka blocka. We’ve left hangry on our date night. I reiterate don’t come!”

Neil Flannery called the event a “fiasco” adding the organisers had been “caught out” as the venue wasn’t equipped to handle the large crowd.

The Entertainment Quarter official Facebook page has apologised to most commenters directly, saying organisers would reassess and ensure tomorrow’s guests had a better experience.

“We are working to reduce the queues for both food and parking. We apologise to everyone who is waiting and thank you for your patience,” the post read.
