Elderly man nabbed over wine theft

A elderly man has been charged with stealing 60 bottles of wine, power tools and 200 golf clubs in Sydney's eastern suburbs.

The 80-year-old man made off with the loot at a Randwick car park on Friday, police say, where dozens of bottles of red and white wine were reported stolen.

He was arrested at a Matraville address on Wednesday and charged with the thefts.

He will face Waverley Local Court on February 4.
