Court asked for more time in terror case

Prosecutors have asked for more time to build their case against a Sydney woman accused of supporting overseas terrorism.

Fatima Elomar was stopped at Sydney Airport on May 3 when she tried to board an international flight with her children.

Her case was due to be up at a Sydney court on Tuesday, however the prosecution asked for more time to prepare the brief of evidence against her.

The matter is expected to return to Downing Centre local court on Dec 16.

Elomar is the wife of Mohamed Elomar, who is fighting with Islamic State and who earlier this year posted pictures online of himself holding the severed heads of Syrian government soldiers.

She has been charged with supporting incursions into a foreign state with the intention of engaging in hostile activities.
