Charges laid over western Sydney stabbing

A 18-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly repeatedly stabbing another man outside a western Sydney unit block.

Emergency services found the 18-year-old victim with multiple upper-body wounds on Boronia Street in South Granville just after 9am on July 11.

He was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition while the police dog unit and helicopter conducted a search for his attacker.

He remains in hospital but is slowly recovering.

Police on Thursday arrested an 18-year-old man at a Telopea unit and charged him with attempted murder. He was refused bail and is set to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Friday.

After the July 11 incident, NSW Ambulance Inspector Jennine Kiely said in a statement that the scene was confronting.

"It was quite a disturbing scene when paramedics arrived because we were confronted with a man who had lost a lot of blood," Ms Kiely said.
