Car explodes into flames in car wash bay

Spare a thought for this driver.

He took his car to the car wash and it exploded into flames, leaving passers-by rattled.

Video of the chaotic scenes in the New South Wales Hunter were filmed by Rachelle Corcoran and live streamed on Facebook.

They show the smouldering wreck being extinguished by firefighters.

The car can be seen completely burnt out inside the wash bay at the facility on Allandale Road, Cessnock.   

Black smoke spewed into the air as firefighters worked to douse the remaining blaze and bring it under control.

No one was injured in the fire and the car wash was not damaged.
