Car smashes through Sydney home's garage

A woman has been rescued from a two-car smash in Sydney's west after one of the vehicles was sent crashing through the garage of a house.

The cars collided at the intersection of Darcy Road and Railway Street, Wentworthville, at about 7.40pm on Monday, police said.

A 44-year-old woman became trapped when her car crashed through a property. She was later taken to Westmead Hospital with a shoulder injury.

Her young female passenger was not injured.

The occupants of the second car, a 31-year-old woman and two boys, aged three years and four months, were assessed by paramedics but only the youngest boy was taken to hospital for minor injuries.

The 31-year-old returned a negative result after being given a breath test, police said.

Detectives have appealed for anyone who saw the crash to come forward.
