Boy, 7, hit by car in Sydney's north

A seven-year-old boy has been hit by a car while riding his scooter on a footpath on Sydney's northern beaches.
The boy was believed to be crossing a service station driveway on Warringah Road at Forestville when he was struck by the 4WD about 5pm on Friday.
He was placed in an induced coma at the scene before being airlifted to The Children's Hospital at Randwick with serious injuries.

A NSW Ambulance spokesman said the boy suffered pelvic injuries.
The female driver wasn't injured but was taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.
