Bondi hoarder house action called off

A family of hoarders will be able to stay in their beachside Sydney home after clearing enough of their debts to stall a forced auction.

The Bondi property was set to go under the hammer on Monday evening, to recover an estimated $160,000 in outstanding clean-up costs and legal fees owed to the local council.

But the infamous "Bondi hoarders", who've lived at the Boonara Avenue property for 25 years, came up with enough cash to keep the sheriff's office at bay late on Monday afternoon.

It's understood there are still some debts outstanding, which over time could build up again, potentially triggering another forced auction.
