Amirah Droudis pleads not guilty to murder

The former partner of Sydney siege gunman Man Haron Monis has pleaded not guilty to the murder of his ex-wife who was set alight.

Amirah Droudis is accused of murdering 30-year-old Noleen Pal, who was stabbed and set alight at a Werrington apartment block in Sydney's west on April 21, 2013.

The 36-year-old pleaded not guilty when she appeared wearing prison greens via AVL from Silverwater Jail at the Supreme Court on Friday.

Droudis will return to court on December 3, when she is expected to make an application to have a trial in front of only a judge, the court heard.

Ms Pal was the former wife of Monis, who took 18 people hostage inside the popular Lindt Cafe in Sydney's CBD in December.

The siege ended more than 16 hours later with the deaths of barrister Katrina Dawson, shop manager Tori Johnson and Monis.

At the time of his death, Monis was on bail, having been accused of inciting, procuring, aiding and counselling Droudis to murder Ms Pal and then harbouring her after the alleged murder.

Droudis's bail was revoked shortly after the siege last year.
