Family's plea as Aussie mum Alivia Campbell fights for life in Bali

Family and friends of an Australian mother-of-two who was seriously injured in a scooter crash in Bali have been overwhelmed by the support they have received.

Alivia Jane Campbell was hit by a truck on the Indonesian holiday island on Friday, leaving her with severe brain trauma and a broken pelvis.

An online fundraiser has raised more than $90,000 as overseas hospital costs continue to mount.

The 28-year-old's father Andrew told NBN News the family has felt a range of emotions in recent days.

"It's a mixture of devastation, it's a mixture of gratitude that she's still here with us, and humility for the support she's been getting," he said.

Without travel insurance, her father said the overseas medical bills are soaring.

"We're looking at over $100,000 for the medical bills, but that's only estimated, it depends how she recovers in that," he said.

"Then obviously the flight home is over $100,000 as well."

Back on the NSW Central Coast, Alivia's best friend Bridie is doing everything she can to help.

"I'm trying not to cry, but I know if it was me, she'd be moving mountains," she told NBN News.

"Everyone is just in shock and we do feel quite helpless.

"I guess that's why I'm trying to try and raise as much money so we can get her home."

"Five dollars from 20 people, that's $100, and then that's $1000.

"That's just one step closer to bringing her home and we're so grateful for everything."

The family told fundraiser supporters on Tuesday that Campbell is in a critical yet stable condition.

They said she is due to have a second major hip surgery on Saturday and doctors are hoping they can bring her out of the coma in the next week.
