NSW mother on school run charged with drink driving
A mother in the NSW Hunter Region has been charged with drink driving after picking her children up from school while allegedly intoxicated.
Police were called to a Salamander Bay primary school just after 4.30pm on Monday, when a teacher grew concerned for the wellbeing of a parent who had arrived to collect her six-year-old daughter from the facility.
It is alleged the Nelson Bay woman’s two-year-old son was also in the car at the time.

A road side breath test was conducted on the 30-year-old which returned a positive blood alcohol reading.
She was arrested and taken to Nelson Bay Police Station where she allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.252mmol. The legal limit is 0.05mmol.
The woman’s licence was suspended and officers also lodged a Child at Risk Notification.
The woman was issued a Court Attendance notice to appear at Raymond Terrace Local Court on Monday April 1.
