Four campers and two dogs winched to safety after campsite floods in northern NSW
Four people and two dogs have been winched to safety after they became stuck at a flooded campsite in northern NSW.
The foursome had been camping at Moree when they awoke this morning to find that floodwater around them had risen significantly overnight.
After raising the alarm the Land Rover LifeFlight Special Mission helicopter flew to the scene, just before 11.30am.

A critical care paramedic was winched down to the campers, finding none were sick or injured.
Over two trips the helicopter winched the campers and their dogs to safety. A child rescue capsule was used to winch the dogs, which included a Pomeranian and a Chihuahua.
LifeFlight's Critical Care Flight Paramedic, Aaron Hartle, said the group told him they had become acquainted at the campsite and were monitoring rainfall in the region, over the past few days.

"They knew it was raining and knew it was flooding, but had discussed the situation and thought they'd be okay," Mr Hartle said.
"When they woke up this morning, the water was higher than knee-deep, so the group contacted the NSW SES, as there was no way out."
Floods in Moree continued to worsen today despite clear skies, with 120,000 megalitres of water travelling down the Mehi River from upstream yesterday.
An evacuation warning was issued for low-lying communities late yesterday.
