NSW fires: Gospers Mountain blaze threatening homes as residents urged to take shelter
At least one home has been lost in the NSW Blue Mountains last night after a huge blaze crossed a creek.
The NSW Rural Fire Service issued an 'emergency' warning yesterday afternoon for Mount Wilson, Mount Irvine, Mount Tomah and Berambing, with residents told to take shelter as it is too late to leave.
The Gospers Mountain fire broke containment lines and crossed Bowen Creek, south of Mount Wilson, yesterday afternoon.

The blaze, which is roughly the size of Greater Sydney, stretches from Lithgow in the west through the Hawksbury and towards the Central Coast.
Bells Line of Road – one of the main thoroughfares from Sydney through the Blue Mountains – remained closed last night, one of several road closures in the region.

As of last night, firefighters were battling more than 100 blazes across New South Wales, with conditions expected to worsen in coming days.

Total fire bans will be in place on the Far North Coast, Central Ranges, New England, Northern Slopes and North Western regions on Monday.
