NSW farmer jailed over shooting death

NSW farmer Ian Turnbull has been jailed for the shooting death of an environmental officer in 2014.

Turnbull, 81, was today sentenced to 35 years behind bars with a non-parole period of 24 years, the ABC reports.

Turnbull shot and killed Glen Turner on a lane at Croppa Creek near Moree, north-western NSW.

Turner was involved in land clearing prosecutions against Turnbull’s family.
