Three critically injured in ute and truck collision in rural NSW

Three people are fighting for life after a ute and truck collided in south-west NSW.

Police said the southbound ute hit the eastbound table-top truck about 7.50pm last night on Long Street at Boorowa, roughly 50 kilometres east of Young.

The truck driver's injuries weren't life threatening but police said the ute driver and his two passengers were found in a critical condition and airlifted to hospital.

The truck driver was taken by road to Canberra Hospital, where the ute passengers were also being treated as the ute driver fought for life in Liverpool Hospital.

Police closed the road and sent crash investigators to the scene to launch an inquiry.
