Three men are on the run this morning after allegedly storming a home armed with machetes in Sydney's eastern suburbs overnight.

Police were called to Curlewis Street at Bondi Beach about 1.20am following reports of a home invasion.

Officers were told three men allegedly armed with machetes had forced their way into the home via the front door and threatened the occupants – two women aged 38 and 26 along with a 28-year-old man.

A crime scene was established, and an investigation commenced.

Police said the attack is believed to be targeted.
