NRL star Auva'a fined for assault

South Sydney Rabbitohs premiership star Kirisome Auva'a has escaped conviction for a drunken attack on an ex-girlfriend.

Auva'a was fined $3000 and ordered to complete a behavioural change course in the Melbourne Magistrates Court.

Auva'a pleaded guilty to recklessly causing injury and criminal damage for the attack on his ex-girlfriend in January, which he admitted was fuelled by alcohol and jealousy.

Auva'a was a member of South Sydney's 2014 premiership team.
