Former AFL star jailed for five years
Fallen AFL star Chris Yarran has been labelled a "poster boy" for meth addiction, as he was jailed over a carjacking rampage through Perth.
Yarran, 28, was high on ice when he stole two cars and terrorised innocent drivers during the three-hour crime spree on November 9.
The ex-Carlton player headbutted and repeatedly punched a police officer who tried to arrest him, before attempting snatch his gun.

The court heard Yarran, who notched up more than 100 games for Carlton, turned to meth in 2014 while he was still playing for the club.
His lawyer Terry Dobson revealed the drug "quickly took over" and Yarran became a daily user.
After a failed stint at Richmond, he retired from the AFL and moved back to Perth.
Yarran quit drugs and went public about his addiction in 2017, but relapsed after the deaths of his niece and cousin, former Dockers player Shane Yarran.

His former coach Mick Malthouse and teammate Chris Judd were among those to make glowing character references on his behalf.
Judge Linda Petrusa told Yarran he'd left a "trail of devastation" and sentenced him to five years' jail.
He'll be eligible for parole in November 2021.
