Helicopter crashes at Moorabbin Airport

Two men are being treated after a helicopter crashed at Moorabbin Airport in Melbourne.

Police believe the two-seater helicopter crash landed on a grass area at the airport just before 11.20am.

The two male occupants, aged 79 and 59-year-old, have been taken to The Alfred Hospital in a stable condition, according to Ambulance Victoria.

Images from above the airport show emergency crews huddling around a light helicopter on its side and with significant damage.

Police will notify the Civil Aviation Safety Authority and Australian Transport Safety Bureau of the incident.
