Newborn left blissed out by first shampoo hair wash

The father of a newborn girl has described being reduced to tears while watching her receive her first shampoo scrub and wash.

Taveon Glenn of Ohio in the US posted a video of daughter Admira’s heart-warming reaction to Facebook over the weekend.

It shows the girl resting placidly in a nurse’s hands, a picture of serenity and enjoyment as she has her hair shampooed, gently scrubbed and washed with a bowl of warm water.

Admira’s pampering session has since been viewed more than 24 million times and received hundreds of thousands of reactions and shares.

Mr Glenn, 20, told local publication Dayton.com that Admira is his first child and that the sight of her enjoying her wash left him in tears.  

Mother Tina Still, 21, said she was surprised by the response the video has since received, and believes it may be due to the fact it depicts a scene of perfect tranquillity during a time of national tumult.

"The country right now is so devastated with everything going on (following the US election)," she said.

"(The video) is so precious that it makes everyone happy."

The name Admira is derived from the Hebrew word meaning “princess”.
