New dad Ryan Reynolds struggles to assemble IKEA crib

New father and Hollywood movie star Ryan Reynolds has proven he is just like everyone else – he can’t assemble IKEA furniture either.

The Deadpool star appears in a new video for men’s magazine GQ, attempting to assemble a crib for his newborn baby girl James, but struggles with the task.

After quickly realising he was in trouble, Reynolds called IKEA’s customer service line for help.

“No, there’s nothing wrong with it,” he said as he explained there were simply too many pieces in the kit for any normal person to handle.

The customer service representative then asked Reynolds what exactly he was having trouble with.

“Besides a slow descent into alcoholism, I’m just really having trouble finding all the screws and the pieces that go with it,” he responded.

“Ikea? Swedish for f--- you,” Reynolds said, a screw between his teeth as he tried to hold pieces of the crib together.

“I’m just wondering if there’s a representative or five that could come by and assemble this for me?”

Ultimately the actor gave up, declared the customer service team “a------s” and duct taped the crib together and walked away, washing his hands of the project.
