Two men sought over spate of antisemitic graffiti attacks in Melbourne

Police have released new CCTV images today as they step up their hunt for two men over the spraying of antisemitic graffiti across Melbourne.

The pair are sought over eight acts of vandalism across the inner city on Sunday, July 6.

Events began when the offenders vandalised a building wall in Selwyn Street at Elsternwick just before 1am followed by glass windows of two restaurants on Glen Huntly Road.

Police believe they then drove in a blue station wagon, fitted with horizontal roof racks, from its parking spot on May Street about 1.25am.

The vehicle headed south on St Georges Road then east onto Glen Huntly Road.

Shortly later, CCTV shows the men spray painting a glass window of a vacant shop, a bus stop and spraying two antisemitic signs in gardens.

Then the men are believed to have travelled to Abbotsford where they spray painted a sign on a retail store on Hoddle Street about 2am.

A short time later, CCTV footage shows the men spray painting an antisemitic sign with homophobic writing underneath at a licensed premises on Gipps Street.

The first man appears to be Caucasian, wearing a black bucket hat, black and white balaclava, black-and-grey checkered shirt, black pants and black shoes.

The second man has a solid build and was wearing a black baseball cap, black ski mask, black rain jacket, black top, blue denim jeans, black gloves and black shoes.

Police are also investigating potential links to vandalism from spray paint at Croydon Railway Station in May, where the same stencil had been used..
