Driver 'yet to be identified' after fatal crash north of Bendigo

Police are working to identify a driver who died after his vehicle ploughed into a fence on a stretch of road in rural Victoria.

Authorities said a passer-by discovered the car off the road in Neilborough, north of Bendigo, just after 9.30pm yesterday.

Officers attended the scene, at the intersection of Neilborough East Road and Munro Road, where they found a man dead outside his car.

Investigations are ongoing into the cause of the crash.

The man is yet to be identified.
