Nauru detention centre gets permanent cops
AAP
Two Nauru police officers will be permanently based at the Australian-run immigration detention centre on the Pacific island nation.
Nauru police insist the move is not related to recent abuse allegations but designed to make it easier for asylum seekers or employees to lodge complaints.
One female officer from the sexual assault unit will be on call at all times.
