Murder investigation after stabbing in country Victoria

Homicide detectives are investigating after a man in his 20s died in country Victoria after being stabbed.

Emergency services were called to a house in the Bendigo suburb of Ironbark after 7pm yesterday.

Ambulance Victoria says the man had been stabbed and was suffering life-threatening injuries to his upper body.

CPR was already being performed and paramedics joined the effort, but the man died at the scene.

Victoria Police confirmed the homicide squad was "investigating the circumstances surrounding the death".
