Motorcyclist dies in Adelaide crash
A motorcyclist has died after colliding with a 4WD in Adelaide today – the 39th death on South Australian roads so far this year.
Ambulance and police were called to the horror crash on Chandlers Hill Road in Happy Valley just after 12.30pm today.
The motorbike was smashed into piece when it veered into the path of the four-wheel drive as it approached Windebanks Road.
The four-wheel drive was left crumpled by the collision, but the woman behind the wheel and her two children were unharmed.
Neighbours rushed to help, but there was nothing they could do for the 57-year-old rider from Joslin. He suffered critical injuries and died at the scene.
The Major Crash Investigation unit are examining the scene to determine the cause of the crash.
The crash occurred on a windy stretch of road with double white lines, which locals say is often used by riders.
Traffic was diverted while police examined the crash site.
