Missing Tasmanian devil found after two weeks on the run

A missing Tasmanian devil that sparked an intensive two-week search on the Gold Coast has been found.
The Tasmanian devil, known as Mary, was located and recaptured last night, just two kilometres away from where she originally went missing from the Paradise Country Wildlife Park, a Village Roadshow Theme Parks spokesperson said in a statement.

Mary escaped from the wildlife park after jumping over the edge of a quarantine enclosure she was being held in.
The exhaustive search efforts to find Mary included tracking CCTV sightings and geographical projection modelling.
At one point, Mary was spotted on CCTV in the front yard of a family home, not far from the wildlife park.
After a fortnight of fending for herself in the wild, Mary was found in a critical condition.
She was rushed to a specialist veterinary hospital where her condition has since stabilised, the Village Roadshow Theme Parks spokesperson said.
“Paradise Country’s experienced wildlife team are continuing to support and care for Mary who is currently stable and remaining in the veterinary hospital to allow specialists to conduct further diagnostic testing,” the spokesperson said.
