Ministers late to lodge interest forms

Four ministers are among 13 federal MPs whose statements of interests have not yet seen the light of day.

Every member of parliament is required to publicly reveal their shareholdings, business interests, real estate holdings, liabilities, bank accounts, organisation memberships and gifts and keep their list updated.

The initial forms are supposed to be provided to the registrar within 28 days of the swearing-in ceremony, which was held on August 30.

While most have met the rules and had their statements published, the returns by ministers Scott Morrison, Sussan Ley, Steven Ciobo and Peter Dutton were not available on the parliament website on Monday.

The statements of a further nine MPs from Labor and the coalition, as well as independents Bob Katter and Cathy McGowan, had also not been published.

Comment was being sought from the registrar of interests.
