A school in Melbourne's outer south-east has closed after a student tested positive to coronavirus.

In a letter to parents, Gleneagles Secondary College principal Simon Sherlock said the school in Endeavour Hills would shut down from today for an initial 72 hours.

"The school will be closed to all students, staff and members of the community," Mr Sherlock said.
