Murder charge after body found in stairwell of Melbourne apartment
Homicide detectives have charged a 42-year-old man with murder after the body of another man was found in a stairwell in Melbourne's east over the weekend.
Police were called to a residence on Young Street at Box Hill about 7.45pm on Saturday following reports of an assault.
Two victims were located at the scene, with one sustaining a minor facial injury that didn't require hospital treatment.

After interviewing witnesses police became aware of reports that a third person had been assaulted and located the body of a 48-year-old man in a stairwell.
Police believe parties are known to each other.

The 42-year-old has since been charged with murder and has been remanded to face Melbourne Magistrates' Court today.
