A 20-year-old man has been fined after he was caught drink-driving a motorised esky in Melbourne's east.
Authorities say they intercepted the Kilsyth man after he was spotted riding the motorised drink cooler in Mooroolbark just before 11pm last night.
He allegedly returned a blood alcohol concentration reading of 0.041 reading after being breath-tested.
The man’s probationary licence has been cancelled for three months. He was also slapped with a $389 fine and another $777 fine for using an un registered vehicle, police said.
"To have this young man riding around poorly lit streets whilst alcohol affected, with no vehicle lights and not wearing any protective equipment, it's simply a recipe for disaster," Leading Senior Constable Adam Dickenson said in a post on the Eyewatch Yarra Ranges Facebook page.
