Melbourne gym members run for their lives after man shot
A man is in hospital after a gunman opened fire outside a gym in Coolaroo, in Melbourne’s north, last night.
CCTV obtained by 9NEWS showed the 21-year-old clutching his body in pain after being shot outside Coolaroo Sports Centre about 8pm.
A number of people can be seen be rushing to the aid of the injured man, who suffered multiple bullet wounds.
It is believed the offender scoped out the scene in a white four-wheel-drive, before targeting the man with what is suspected to have been a low-calibre weapon.
The victim collapsed in the carpark and left behind a 100-metre-long blood trail.
A friend of the man loaded him into his small black sedan and rushed him to hospital before paramedics arrived.
He is now recovering in Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Authorities continue to search for the gunman.
